Time to get started on giving away goodies. This giveaway is for 9 Eli's Earth bars, 3 of each kind to be exact. The best news is there will be two winners! That is right, two lucky winners will get to partake in 9 Eli's Earth Bars (18 bars given away total). Just in time for Halloween!
Along with the candy bars, you will be entered to win a copy of "Vegan Lunch Box," by Jennifer McCann. I don't have a child in elementary school to pack lunches for yet, but after getting this book, I can't wait to start next year! A winner will be choosen next Wednesday, October 12th.
There is still time to enter the contest to win a $25 gift certificate to Vegan Essentials, so be sure to check it out if you haven't already (ends October 8th).
Here is how you enter:
1) First subscribe to this blog, i.e. must be a blog follower to win.
2) Write in the comments what your favorite candy bar was when you were a kid.
3) For an extra entry into the contest, like Growing Up Veg on FB, follow me on tumblr (http://www.tumblr.com/tumblelog/veganmomma), and twitter (@Vegan_Momma).
4) You can get an extra entry for tweeting or reblogging this contest too!
Please note shipping to domestic addressees only.
And the winners are:
Jenny from Vegan and So Forth won Vegan Lunch Box
Tofu Mom (AKA Tofu-n-Sprouts) won 9 Eli's Earth Bars
Jen from Lita's World won 9 Eli's Earth Bars
Congratulations to the winners!
I think Twix was my all time favorite!
ReplyDeleteI grew up in England, so most of the candy I'm used to isn't familiar to a lot of people here.
ReplyDeleteBut I used to absolutely love this bar called Milky Way (which is different from the American Milky Way) until they came out with these things called Milky Way Magic Stars. I swear, I would cry my eyes out just to get anyone to buy me these when we went to the shop.
Too bad I can't eat them anymore, otherwise I would probably still cry for some if I saw them :)
Snickers was my favorite, but luckily there are vegan equivalents now!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite candy bar was Kit-Kat...now I like Crispy Cat
ReplyDeleteIf Reeces don't count as a candy bar, Snickers, but I'm pretty sure Reeces should count, because you know, peanut butter.
ReplyDelete3 musketeers!
ReplyDeleteReese's was easily my favorite candy bar to the point where I would spend all my allowance money on them. I wish PB cups were easier to make, considering how quickly I eat them! By the waysies, I followed you on Twitter under MyKittyFriend.
ReplyDeletebutterfinger!
ReplyDeleteReeses for sure!!
ReplyDeleteI tweeted this too.
Very cool blog - my (now 18 and 20-year-old) kids were raised vegan too!! Way to go!

I loved Twix bars! Also, Reese! Thanks so much for the contest :) I wish I could find Vegan chocolate bars like this in Canada!
ReplyDeletehi. i'm assuming when you say subscribe, you mean through google friend connect, and not an RSS reader, right? cause you said "must be a follower" just trying to get it right.
ReplyDeleteaaaaannnyway, it was a toss up between caramel twix (since back then they also had PB twix) and watchamacallits. these eli's bars are the bomb diggity! (especially the one with the squishy caramel. noms!)
I'm definitely following you!!!! WOW vegan for over a decade!! I love your blog and realize I have so much to learn! Thanks for sharing all your insights!
ReplyDeleteI admit my favorite candy bar as a kid was Twix...even as I write this I crave them!!! eeek...maybe I'll make an exception for the Halloween holiday...well, maybe, because I'm sure they taste better in my memory :)

ReplyDeleteI loved them all, but Reese's cups were my favorite. If only I could find Cleos by my house!

ReplyDeleteAnything chocolate! I'd have to say I agree with a lot of others commenting...Reese's peanut butter cups. My age is going to show, but I also loved Reggie Candy Bars.
